The season of Organization

Repurposed oatmeal cartons become office organizers for chalk, charging cords, adhesives, etc.. Keeping the clutter contained and out of sight helps me to think clearly and be more productive!
I look forward to it all year, but especially on days when my "three square meals" are; a granola bar I found in the glove box, a grande latte, and fun size snickers in the office candy dish.  Days when I put together an outfit from whichever two items are on the top of the clean laundry pile that has been growing on my couch since last...er, month.  I daydream about it on my drive to the flower market at 4 am, when I notice in the rearview mirror that I only put mascara on one eye, and I forgot my laptop at home.  Those of you who live in the world of events will know what I'm talking about...in the middle of the chaos, I can't wait for...off season!

Among my fabulous flea-market finds is this antique gilded frame.  I use it to display pics from some of my favorite jobs.  Tiny magnets on either side make it easy to swap out new photos when the mood strikes.
Usually January-March, depending on the type of event service, you are regrouping from the Holidays and spending more time inside...where it's warm. Consequently, your event professionals are regrouping,  too!  Time for us to work on all the routine things 9-to-5'ers appear to keep up on throughout the year.  File those reciepts, sort digital photos into albums, answer flagged emails, get the oil changed, doctor checkup, empty the box of paper clips (that I bought in May) into the paper clip organizer (yes, it's January),  and grocery shop for goodness sake!  It's also a good time to catch up on the blogs I like to "follow",  and even post to my own blog if the winds are right!
My clever cousin, Rebecca, gave me this great idea to store and display my earrings.  It's the easiest project you'll ever do...hang a fabulous ribbon on the wall and you'll never have to dig in the jewelry box for a match again!

I'm a bit short on cabinet space in my studio, so a couple fabulous, square cake stands now store glassware.
